Zeitgeist
While I don't fully endorse everything mentioned in the Zeitgeist documentaries (Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist Addendum), I found them fascinating and enlightening. In the original Zeitgeist, the portions on religion and the Federal Reserve are worth considerable attention. The original is divided into three parts: Religion, 9/11 and The Federal Reserve. The 2nd portion I think requires more research, but it worth examining. Parts 1 and 3 were excellent. Expounding on parts 1 and 3, The Zeitgeist Addendum is entirely fascinating in all its facets. I will leave part 2 (on 9/11) to others for analysis.

For convenience sake, I will place links to the portions in Zeitgeist I found most enlightening from both Zeitgeist and the Addendum. They're placed here for your convenience. Again, this is not the entire documentary, but the sweetest parts of the fruit, with respect to religion. To the left in the library section you will see the sections on The Federal Reserve and the Addendum for more segments.
Thomas Paine (one of our Founding Fathers and author of "Common Sense" and "The Age of Reason") wrote, "The christian religion is a parody on the worship of the Sun, in which they put a man whom they call Christ, in the place of the Sun, and pay him the same adoration which was originally paid to the Sun." Thomas Paine was born in 1737 and died in 1809. It is amazing to me that hundreds of years later, the world still believes, subscribes and obeys the dictates of the forces of superstition.
This portion of the documentary explains how indeed all religions are equally fanciful and allegorical with respect to astrology.
